In the year 2015, 66,889 national German patent applications, 14,277 utility model applications, 69,130 trademark applications and 55,219 design applications were filed in the German Patent and Trademark Office (source: DPMA).
Furthermore, 160,022 European patent applications (source: EPO), 108,515 European Union trademark applications and 86,127 European Union design applications were filed last year (source: EUIPO).
