In the year 2017, 67,707 national German patent applications, 13,299 utility model applications, 72,042 trademark applications and 44,297 design applications were filed in the German Patent and Trademark Office (source: DPMA).
Furthermore, 165,590 European patent applications (source: EPO), 121,529 European Union trademark applications and 95,7800 European Union design applications were filed last year (source: EUIPO).
