HELL NOMINATED FOR INVENTOR AWARD
Mr. Prof. Dr. Stefan Hell is among the nominees for the "European Inventor of the Year 2008" award presented annually by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Commission.
Mr. Hell has been nominated in the category "Lifetime Achievement" for overcoming the Abbé Limit which was a maxim carved in stone for all light-based microscopy. Mr. Hell has invented a Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Microscope which not only magnifies beyond the Abbé Limit, but surpasses it substantially. Mr. Hell is a client of RHP.
